I am having a problem with the floor when I wind the legs down. The floor in the corners are rising up, anyone know how to fit new timbers to fix the problem.?

That only happens when the corners steadies have been used as levelling jacks as they are only fixed to the timber floor and not the chassis. It could well be an expensive fix as the timber floor may no longer be flat.

I would not know how to repair it but as suggested, if you use the corner steadies as jacks to level the caravan it could cause lots of damage. When I was looking at caravans for sale I came across one that the corner steady had actually pushed right through the floor. There was a big hole in the floor...the seller forgot to mention it of course.

The best advice is to take the caravan to a recognised repair workshop and obtain a quote for the damage to the timber floor. However, due to the severity of the damage it's not going to be cheap regarding labour charges etc. therefore would be advisable to approach your insurance company to see if you can make a claim which would just be the cost of the excess fee to pay out. That's if you have the caravan insured of course.

Hi, currently having a similar problem on a 2004 Elddis Odyssey 505. Had it serviced the start of March at storage site ready for holiday and was told the floor had dropped on n/s/f corner. Not being able to get down there I had to wait until holiday to assess it. Went away for the week and the floor has indeed dropped. Nothing looks rotten or damp and the damp report from service picked up no damp in that area. However the floor has dropped about an inch. It doesn't rise or fall when corner steady is lowered. Didn't wanna try a Jack as I hadn't got a plank to hand to place in between. I'll try this when the weather cheers up a bit. There's no play from inside either from weight being placed on top.

Am I right in thinking that the floor should lay in line with the rail that runs along the bottom of the van where the skirt is channelled through? If so is it possible that if I can Jack it up and hold it in place that I could remove that rail to put some long screws through to hold up the floor? And also brace the ply above and below with some 2x2 like a sandwich to strengthen it so that if the ply wouldn't hold the screws that it wouldn't just rip out and drop again.

Would love some thoughts on this.
