Away at the moment I’ve got a2004 lunar clubman, having problems with heating on electric, can hear the relays clicking but no heat. Have been told it can be the PCB or the 2 relays behind the fire. I’ve had a quick look but cannot see access or where the board is located.
Just an update when I set dial to 1000kw it works ok, if I turn it up to 2000kw nothing at all. I’m completely baffled. If it did not work at all I could understand.
The two electrical heaters are switched on in different wattage modes by a combination of the three relays on the PCB, one or more of them is likely to have the contacts erroded with use. They are still being selected by the control panel as you can hear them click but no current flows.
If your fire set-up is anything like mine, the PCB is situated under a cover and right at the back where it's amlost impossible to access it. Replacement boards are expensive but the relays themselves are relatively cheap, if you can solder.

Thanks for that, my van is a lunar clubman 2004 I see what you mean regarding access,I’ve pulled the draw out from above the fire and used a mirror to have a look. Was it easy to take the pcb out is it on a block terminal where you can pull it of connections or are they individual wires to pcb.is the pcb pinned down or does it just pull out.
Thank you for the advise, is it feasible to do it myself, I know gary Fromm arc systems upgrades the pcb, but wanted to be sure it’s that.
The PCB is connected via a couple of push-on edge connectors.
Gary from Arc Systems is the go-to guru for these jobs, ask his advise because he has so much experience of working on Truma and Cascade equipment, he will see you right. Top man

Just an update, had pcb checked all ok, I took the 2 stats out & the 175c stat had burnt away, replaced, heating seems to work ok. I’ve purchased an override sensor from Gary at Ark I’ve plugged it in but it seems to cut out & I cannot here the relays kicking , I know there is no problem with the sensor, just woulnderd if any one had any ideas, if I pull sensor back out all seems ok. I will try & get back in touch with Gary when I can.
Thanks for the update mrp, some don't bother so it's nice to hear the full story as it helps the next person in trouble. These cut-outs and their terminals/ connections are also a common source of problems, especially when these heaters have racked up a few years work.
It sounds like you are nearly there but Gary will sort things out finally. To my mind if all works ok until the new sensor is plugged in and then it fails to heat then there are only a couple of things left to cause the problem.
1) the sensor, it may not be compatible, it's plug or connections each end, (very doubtful).
2) the socket is not connecting properly or one of the terminals is touching something it shouldn't when it opens up to let the plug in.

Latest problem is/was the gas fires temperature sensor happens to be fitted incorrectly at the back of his fire, consequently mrp had fitted my sensor to it hence that didn't work either 😥
