Hey there lovelies,
Got my Hymer Swing sited for the summer 👍😁. No electric hook up btw. First week fridge ignited (propane) first time and stayed on for whole week.
Came back yesterday, can’t light the beggar for love nor money.. levelled out van, changed gas bottles. Tried holding for 30 secs before igniting..
Looked up some google stuff, removed back vent, everything looks very corroded.. 🙄 is this normal?!
Any suggestions?
Anyone know anyone mid/north Cornwall who do a call out?
Warmly Trees

It could be that small rust particals have covered up the gas jet

You say that you changed the gas cylinders. If so then it's probably just air in the pipe that needs to be expelled as it always happens to my fridge when connecting up to gas for the first time. However, try lighting one of the burners on the stove which will help draw the gas through the pipes which always works for me. The fridge still won't light first time but it just takes a little patience and the flame may extinguish but the next attempt usually works.

I would ask the site owner if he can recommend a mobile engineer. There are loads in Cornwall. Probably a card in reception.

If you have tried that many times to light the fridge on gas then maybe it needs a service. It could be that the jet is blocked, an intrusion of cobwebs and needs cleaning or even the thermocouple has malfunctioned. However, there should be an isolation valve in the gas line to the fridge so make sure that is in the ON position first before seeking assistance of a fridge service.
