My truma water pump - that goes in the aquaroll, suddenly started intermittently 'squealing'. Then the more it was used, the worse it got, till it stopped. Kaput!
We are presently touring France, so not many direct replacements to hand.
Luckily, my mate had a spare Whale model, which we literally swapped pump for pump, after stripping both sets of fittings down. (the Whale is a completely different connection etc).
Now i am back in action, the new pump working perfectly.
After a bit of research, a new Truma kit - which is the pump, hose and trigger connector all as one, retails around the £55 mark, depending where you buy it. However, a large French caravan accessory shop literally up the road (but closed today/tomorrow), sells about 5 different pumps (just the pumps, no tube/connection), identical in appearance/size to the truma pump, but with differing flow rates. The truma being 9L/min. The Whale we've adapted is 12. The French pumps range from 10 to 20 or so.
Anyone see a downside to A) keeping the whale on with its larger flow rate. And B) getting one with a larger flow rate still?
The attractive part about buying a French pump, is that none of them are above 30 euros, as opposed to the truma replacement in the UK going to cost around £55. And one of them looking a direct copy of the truma in every way, apart from the brand. (or, the truma could be a direct copy of the French version??)
Thoughts please.

Even if you buy in the UK, don't buy a Truma replacement - the stiff blue plastic tube is a right pain. I switched to the Whale version which attaches to the Truma inlet and is a much better piece of kit

For half the price of one in the UK I would be tempted to buy one in France if all the specs are good. It's nice to have a spare in any case, even if you went down the whale route later.
