Just bought a 2006 Lunar Ariva, and am floored by the fridge. Electric bit I can sort, but the gas operated segment has me puzzled. Manual is USELESS . Model is the RM7270, and controls are fairly usual - press in the temperature control button, hold and fire the piazzathinggy. But there is no flame in a hole inside. Only a little window next the controls, which is showing a white and a green panel, which looks as if it turns . Is this telling me if the thing has fired at and how is it telling me. I just don't dare try to light the thing on gas, and as we never use sites with hookups, I have a ginormous problem. Need some help before I blow myself up! LOL

A Dometic RM7270 fridge is the same as what is installed in our 2004 caravan and there is actually a glass inspection hole to view the flame on the left hand side just below the second (bottom) shelf which is at an angle. It is difficult to see but it helps a lot if you remove the bottom shelf completely in order to be able to see the flame igniting more easily.

Lighting the gas my advice would be to press the piezo electric before you press the gas control. The gas air mixture is quite critical it is easy not to be able light the the gas because you have too much gas.   You are not going to blow up the van at worst you will get a pop. We use a fridge on gas about 20 weekends a year we haven’t killed ourselves yet.

the green and white thing shows if it is lit the needle should be in the green if the flame fails it drops into the white.

You must be referring to a different model fridge as I don't know which part you are referring to but there certainly isn't a green and white thing on the Dometic RM7270 model. That's why I posted a link with a picture of the fridge so if you look carefully at the panel above the fridge door you will see that there are just 3 functions which are, LEFT: the selection dial (Off, 240v, 12v and Gas. RIGHT: temperature dial and the other on the far right is the push button igniter.

Strange. Defiintly no view hole, but the info label stuck inside the fridge clearly states Mod No. RM7270. However, someone has now put me right, so thanks or your comment! Cheers.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

So as you initially asked the question on this forum it would be nice if you came back with a constructive reply regarding what the problem was as may helps others with an identical fridge problem in the future which is the aim of this forum basically.
Is there a flame indicator?
If so where is it or did you post the wrong model of fridge?
