Nothing comes out of hot taps! Is it really just the non return valve? When I drain the system hot water comes out but nothing at the tap! It seems the cold goes onto the bottom of the heater and comes out of the top, is this true? Any one shed any light. Please?

I think it might be the non return valve - I had this a couple of times and using a long handled artists brush (actually I think it had a soft rubber end to it) I poked it through the drain hole and carefully, gently worked it around the valve which is at the other end to the drain. It sorted it. Probably bunged up with limescale. Saved stripping down the whole unit. I keep the brush in the van now.

Cool. I’ll have to get that brush and give it a whizz. Cheers.
