Sounds like it turns on then Alyson but doesn't ignite? Is there an auto ignite on that oven, can you light the burner with a match of barbeque lighter?

Hi, Alyson's husband Neil here.
The gas was connected and working for all other appliances. The rings and grill worked fine too. The counter top was fully raised and latched onto its retainer clip and the small on/off valve in the cupboard underneath is in the open position (although I tried it both ways round to make sure).
When the rings and grill are switched on I can hear the gas hissing and smell it, it lights easily with a match. In the oven however I do not hear or smell it and can not light the back plate (where the gas should come out) with a match. I tried turning the oven knob to max, I tried holding it in at different places on the dial's travel.
It just seems that the gas is not getting through to the oven. I fitted a new butane regulator and tested all the gas lines I could phisically get to using a sprayer with soapy water to check for leaks. It is middle of summer so cold won't have affected the butane.
The only thing I can think is that gas just isnt getting to the oven, could there be another shut off valve or some sort of mechanism to stop it working if the fridge is running or maybe the on/off valve in the cupboard underneath is broken and stuck in the off position (internally) ... maybe the tube just has a random blockage like a spiders nest in the tube, lol.
What would be my next step?
Could it be an airlock?
Could the caravan gas system originsllly be designed to work on a higher pressure regulator?
It sounds to me like the actual gas regulator to the oven isn't working Neil. It may be time to call in the professionals if you want the oven to work.
I doubt that there is yet another isolation valve that is shut off.
It won't be an airlock as the gas is blown along the pipes under pressure so any air in them would be blown out by the gas after a short while.
If you have a regulator now I would think that all gas appliances are configured to work on low pressure.
Dave.

Thanks for your advice Dave.
So the oven itself has its own build in regulator? ... if repairing it is a job for the professionals then I might just leave it as is. We have just used the van for 3 consecutive weekends (we like going to the local folk music festivals). On each occasion it was s make shift camp site - we survived just fine on gas minus the oven.
