Hi all
I’ve just bought my 2007 Ellis odyssey 544
I’m delighted with it but it needs a few jobs doing .
One of which is the Truma heater won’t work on 230 v electric.
The orange light comes on but no clicking of relays or anything regardless of wether 500 1000 or 2000 selected .
Is there a write up anywhere on how to check it out ?
Or can anyone tell me what to check first etc ?

Cheers

Vin

Have you got a fully charged leisure battery connected up?
Although the heater element is 240 volt mains I believe the fan that distributes the air from the behind the gas fire through the pipes is operated by 12 volts so you need the power to run the fan. Just a thought.

Hi Moorlander

No , I’ve not got a green light on the thermostat . The little red light on the switch is lit but that’s it. No clicking at all when I try any of the 3 settings .
Any ideas ?

Cheers

I contacted Gary who told me to remove the gas part of the fire and then the electric part.
Once I got it out I sent the control box to him . He reported back to me the box was not faulty.
I checked the wiring and found this

On Gary’s advice I fitted a better junction box and attached it to the wall at the back of the cupboard behind the fire .
Gary returned my control box . He refurbed it anyway while it was out .
I put it all back together replacing the exhaust seal with a new one .
I also checked over all fixings and made a better job of what I found when I opened it up!
Over all it’s a fiddle job but not too difficult at all .

Cheers for all advice and thanks to Gary.

Vin

Cheers Vince, you'll maybe get some use out of it...if it ever cools down enough
