With the fantastic weather we have been having is it possible that a lot of damp issues have drastically reduced over the last few months??
We have friends who had readings of over 50% back in May when their caravan was serviced, but due to several circumstances and cancelled bookings, is going in this weekend to a dealer to be looked at regarding repair as was under a warranty supplied when purchased.
He has checked it with my damp meter and it's reading 17% now in that area.
It's not the meter that's at fault as we checked it after the service and confirmed the reading by the servicing guy.
So my question is can a damp patch in a caravan disappear in good summer weather and reappear in Autumn when the rain returns???
We suspect it has water ingress, but has dried out as we haven't had much wet stuff for 2 months now.
If so, there may well be a few damp caravans that currently have "no damp"...
Thoughts please...
I've heard service centres tell people with slightly high damp readings to bring back for a recheck in a few months. I don't understand this as when it rains it will go back up. If there's been a high reading I'd insist on the warranty work being done.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
wet or "damp" wood that dosnt dry out will eventually go rotten.. we are talking about lack of ventilation in the areas that may go rotten..
quite clearly the overall weather pattern effects this drying out factor.. to go rotten the wood needs to be permanently wet or "damp"..
damp dosnt always mean rot.. i am also pretty sure that drying out will kill the rot or at least halt its progress.. this long hot summer will no doubt prolong the life of the odd caravan or two..
it will also hide potential problems.. its a win some lose some situation..
