I have a very old caravan, it has a carver water inlet see photos first link is the outside of the caravan and the second is the interior

https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipNL-uc55SxzyQJalwyALgvHhVI4Kb65kkHWFCk

I would like some advice, from the information I have gathered on the internet, I think I can replace it with a CARAVAN MOTORHOME CRYSTAL TO ULTRAFLOW HOUSING CONVERSION KIT IVORY, my only concern is I have a water heat on board and the wires on the second photo, go straight to the water heater, would I be able to do this with the replacement kit. I do hope the links work, I have never posted on a forum like this before

You need a Google account to access the photos so cannot see any related pictures to your question. However, the Carver is now called a Truma which is identical but if you wish to exchange the existing inlet for a Truma Ultraflow one then it IS possible because I had mine swapped over when I bought my caravan 2 years ago.
The only thing I'm confused about are the wires saying that they go straight to the water heater. The wires don't have any connection with the water heater at all as they connect up to the pressure switch which activates the pump when a tap is opened and the water pressure drops.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply, I have a white and blue wire that come from the Truma unit, (I thought they would go to the taps), they do not, they seem to go the other way towards the water heater, so in my wisdom I thought the went to the water heating unit, I will have to look and see where they actually do go tomorrow.

The water heater is operated by either gas or mains electric only whereas the water pump is operated by 12 volt power from the leisure battery so there no link between the two. The hot water heater will be linked to an MCB trip switch at the RCD and the pump will have a specific rated fuse in a block with other 12 volt fuses. Regarding the water system, there are two different systems which the taps are either operated by micro-switches or the most common method by a pressure switch which either method only functions via 12 volts power from the leisure battery.
