Hi all as you may remember I am having problems with my Carver Cascade Rapide water heater, I thought I would let you all know where your advice has lead me and what test I have carried out.
First I switched it on after priming the water system, left it on for four hours nothing happened. Then noticed the green light was still lit with no fault showing even when I turned of the gas to the boiler no other lights showed. Next I unscrewed the control panel with its button switches and there wasn’t much I could test but it did show the 12 volts was entering the circuit I had some doubts about some diodes but without removing them from the board I could not be sure they had failed. Next I tried a continuity test on every wire that goes from the controller to plug that plugs into the board attached to the boiler and all passed the test I once again took the outside panel off, and the plate that covers the burner. Sorry to say no sign of gas or an ignition spark. At the time of writing I am unsure how to remove the board from the boiler in time to come I hope to learn how to do this and maybe I can check that board too. As yet I cant find the fault but suspect the control unit especially after I turned the gas off at the boiler isolator and it did not show up on the control panel. So what are your thoughts and any suggestions on my next course of action.

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
