We’ve got a 2018 coachman vip 565 and for the 2nd time the flush mechanism on the dometic toilet has come loose which means the whole toilet has to come out to fix. Has anyone else had this problem?
you aren't travelling with the flush water still in are you? a 3/4 tank of that sloshing around can weigh a lot and could work it loose, failing that I suggest you getting back in touch with your dealer as its a warranty issue
We have a 2018 460 vip, presumably the same toilet.
The mechanism is very stiff to remove / reinstall the cassette. I think something is going to break every time I remove the cassette.
Regarding travelling with a full flush tank, I have not found a way of emptying the tank other than to hold the flush button down. Our old caravan had a tube with a stopper on the end which you simply removed to drain the tank.
We have a 2018 Coachman VIP 575, and the flush button and indicator panel fell out (or should that be in?) while we were away in July.
We contacted our dealer on July 16th and were advised that this problem has occurred before and that the toilet has been re-designed.
Dometic took their time agreeing to the warranty work and supplying the replacement part, and the 'van will be returned to the dealer for fixing on 20th September, as they are very busy!
Over two months to effect a repair under warranty is a poor show in my opinion.
I have rarely had a problem with my Volvo, but, when I have, the dealer's usual response is: "When can you get here?" or: "The part will be here tomorrow".
Is it unfair to make a comparison between, or to expect a similar standard of service from the two industries?

With a caravan under warranty the responsibility for replacement of faulty equipment lies with the dealer who sold it to you. It is then up to them to seek reimbursement from the manufacturer, not for them to keep you waiting until the manufacturer agrees liability.
It is certainly not unfair to make a comparison between a car dealer and a caravan dealer. You should expect a similar service from both.
Thank you for your comments, they have been really helpful. I contacted Dometic directly and I got a very different response from the one your dealer gave to you. I don’t have a date for my van to go in for repair but, now I will expect a new toilet and not a repair.
This is Dometic response to me. See below:
Thank you for your email, though we are sorry to hear you have a problem with your Saneo. The PCB needs clipping back into place, we have found that when the Saneo has been installed the rear bracket can be screwed higher than normal by the OEM which means the unit is flexing. The rear bracket will need to be moved down 1-3 mm.
