I’m thinking of respraying the front of My Bailey Pageant Champange 2002 as it’s quite dull and to give it a new lease of life. Only the fibreglass part, Has anyone done something similar just looking for some pointer before I start and regret it.
have you considered taking it to a body shop or a boat yard that specialises in GRP finishes? They may be able to restore it by re-polishing rather than re-paint ?
Thanks Moorlander999. I wouldnt have a clue where to take it but now you have mentioned a boat yard it would make sense get a quote and save a load of hassle as you know it would be done properly
my local boat yard has just re-fettled my 18 foot day boat...Rub down by me. but they re painted it ....and new anti foul on the hull.....Was surprised at the cost..cheaper than a paint shop.
Can’t see the point of painting it. If it is glassfibre you can polish it with cutting compound. Look on Farecla website. They do specific glassfibre compound. You can diy it’s no more difficult than polishing a car.

You could try rubbing baby oil into it to bring back its shine. If successful apply a good quality polish, if it does not work it could be removed using white spirit and it won,t have abraded the surface. (Tip received from a professional car valeter)

What an amazing idea! I will definitely try this before anything else!! Thank you all for the suggestions and tips
How about and a bit left wing not polishing or painting but having it wrapped in vinyl, you can get anything you wanted then. Google vinyl wrapping. Am considering this for my van in the next few years to make it look better.
