I need to replace one of the brake lights and one of the fog lights on my Bailey Ranger 550/6 (2006) as currently, we have a small pool in each of them.

Is there a difference between the brake and the fog lights?

What I want to do is buy two new lights but fit both of these as brake lights and then take the one brake light that is fine and fit that as a fog light. Is that something I can do?

the only time my fog light gets used is once yearly at MOT time..

i also curse people that do use them in any other conditions than thick daylight fog..

but to answer the question i would think you could do what you suggest..

I would remove the existing failed brake light first. Sometimes a single lamp has dual filaments one for lighting the other for brakes. If its brakes only you are good to go

It will depend whether the light is a single like the fog or a dual one ie, stop/tail light. If both single then it's the same light unit used in both positions.
