As suggested, I'd be suspicious of the quality of the LED's in use, but if you're stuck with these now, surely a standard 12v regulator would suffice?

Just had a closer look at that regulator, it would be no good cause it's 24 volts.
I'll stick with my buck reducer, it's working fine

Ha ha, that's curious as the link was definitely to a 12v input device, however Amazon were listing both the 12v and a 24v version at the time; they've clearly changed their stock.
If you're sorted with your buck reducer though, that's great.
