Only using your van for 4 weeks a year ! expensive holiday. I am not far away from the national park and x feet of snow lasts only days so as long as you drain down and take advise on how to "store" your van there should be no problem.

if you got a decent cover for your caravan such as one from specialised and put that on it, then that would help protect it from any problems, but don't use one of the cheaper ones as they aren't waterproof, and aren't a decent fit and cause issues with damage to the paintwork. a few footballs placed on the roof under the cover will make a pitch for any water/snow to run off.
Surely ifyour dad is there then he could check on the caravan to make sure snow isn't building up past floor height? even just walking around the caravan would compress it enough and allow air flow under the caravan.
