I am currently in my little Bailey Ranger. It has a Truman air blow system thingy which is on and nice and toasty. However, somebody told me that I MUST remove the panel on the outside of the van when I’m using it but I can’t get it off?? It’s stuck tight.
Is it correct that I must remove it? I can’t find any information about it online but worried as planning to leave it on low all night.
Help and advice gratefully received. Thank you.
I just checked my Truma CP Plus manual and I cannot see any mention of taking the vents off the side of the caravan for using the blown air heater. I thought that the two vents on the side of my caravan were related just to the fridge....
I had this system on my 2006 Lunar Zenith, if you are running on Gas. The outer cowl over the vent needs removing, if running on Electricity, leave it alone and it will work fine.
It just clips off, but if the previous owners have always used Electricity, it may have become stubborn to remove due to the build up of road dust and the effects of direct sunlight over time.
If my memory serves me well, the Gas will automatically cut off a few mins after lighting if this cowl is left in place, its main job is to keep the dirt and weather out of the system when not in use on Gas.

I wonder if the person who told you to remove was refering to the 'winter cover'. My ranger came with a cover that just clipped off. Many years later I no longer have the cover.

Probably thinking of the Truma water heaters (e.g Ultrastore) where the vent has to be taken off before using on gas
I think maybe you are getting confused with the heating and hot water tank as I wholly agree with the comment above.
The flue for the gas fire comes out of a small exhaust vent on top of the caravan roof but the hot water tank flue (when used on gas) is a removable cover on the side of the caravan (about knee height) which is there to stop dust and insects entering the system when not in use.
Hi I had one of these covers on previous van it's only when using the gas system needs to be removed for the fumes. don't need to remove on electric hookup
We have the same caravan as you, there is no cover for the heater, I think you may have got confused with the water heater which is on the other side of the van, this has a cover that needs to be removed if used on gas. We find the heating works well on electric and we prefer to use the room heater as opposed to the blown air
