So - had a bit of a nightmare yesterday ☹️ I was on site towing the caravan to our pitch when I didn’t take a bend wide enough as I was trying to avoid a row of traffic cones. Unfortunately, by avoiding the cones I hit a wall on the other side 😩 So, now I’m left with the front wheel (near side) has a burst tyre and it is now bent slightly inwards so it’s out of line with the rear wheel. It’s totally unroadworthy and I’m waiting for the insurance to arrange to get someone to assess the damage. I know nothing at all about how the wheels etc attach. The loss adjuster has arranged for a low loader to take the caravan home tomorrow and he’s asked me to organise quotes to repair the damage as he feels it’s definitely worth fixing because of the condition of the van. I’ve contacted a local mobile caravan repair guy but he said it’ll need to go somewhere where they have a pit/lift to do the repair. So far I can’t seem to find anyone that is interested in helping me ☹️ Do any of you good people have any suggestions? We’re in the North East - Redcar (TS10) the Caravan is a 2003 Fleetwood Heritage 640ES. Thank you in advance 👍🏻😊
Hi Granpian91 I’ve googled the ones near me and called them but unfortunately nobody seems interested. I haven’t tried Kimberly Caravans so I’ll give them a call - fingers crossed! 👍🏻
From your description it is possibly the axle is bent. Unless you can get a second hand one to repair it I doubt the cost of a new one would be economical, if you can obtain one, due to the make and age of caravan no longer a manufacturer.
