Some have tried expanding builders type foam in spongy floor fixes instead of using the recognised one-shot or two-shot proprietory materials, probably due to cost but it can have it's problems.
I don't think it has the same inherant strength but more importantly it is quite an aggressive foam mixture when released and needs careful use or it will bulge out the area being worked on or be forced into areas were it was not intended to go into.
