We have a damp problem that showed up during our van’s annual service. The van is kept in a barn and had never had an issue with damp. But a year ago we had an incident where 2 push fit plastic pipes came apart and let in a lot of water into the bathroom. We cleared it up, dried it out and took it to the desert area of Spain for a month. After returning it has been in store for the last 9 months. But the latest service has revealed up to 30% damp in the bathroom area, which means the problem has not gone away. It is 10 years old and before this was worth about £6500.
Has anyone got an idea what we can do with it?
I recon you need to resolve whether it's remnants of the old spillage or something new that's raised it's ugly head. My immediate gut feeling is that the old spill hasn't dried out completely yet, even though you've been in desert conditions for a month. It does take a while as it will have to 'wick' out through the ply flooring, top & bottom. 30% isn't that bad a reading if it's getting better but not good it it's getting worse.

Always a worry when the dreaded 'D' word in mentioned and it's in your van Carol, it happened to me last year when my annual service was done. The good news is that caught early it's relatively inexpensive if a pain to fix. Let's hope it's gonna be good news.

Hi, a few years back my friends sprite had a damp bathroom problem, turned out to be the enclosed washbasin built into vanity unit leaking into space below and then soaking into wall, once the leaking drain hole was fixed it dried out with just a bit a discolouration.
