Hi, we recently bought the above caravan and then bought a Tow Pro + from Specialized Covers. The problem that we are having is that when we put the cover on we struggle to get the tails into the awning rail. What I mean is that the tails do not slide very easily into the rail. Is this normal, will it get better over time or do we look at the awning rail for problems? All of your answers are really appreciated and thanks for looking at our problem.

We've had a couple of Tow Pro covers and they have been a bit fiddly the first time we have used them but have have been ok after that.

We cleaned our awning rail out with a small brush and ran a small piece of kador strip through the awning rail before we fitted the covers and this helped clean out blobs of sealant and spiders that had taken up residence. We then slid a few inches of cover in each rail before sliding the whole cover up to the correct position and then fastening the zip and straps. After the first time, when the cover was brand new, it only took me a minute or two to fit the cover on my own.

I would check the awning rail isn't damaged and then clean it out and try the cover again. The folk at Specialised may be able to offer advice if you are still having problems after checking the rails and cleaning them.

Agree with Rob's comments.
The awning rail is quite soft and can easily be dented even very slightly. There is a tool available which you run in the channel which opens out any slight indentations but Rob's instructions should do the trick.
A little spray of silicon grease may also help.

Isn't it lovely when someone takes the trouble to come back and let you know what they have done following a suggestion. So often you don't hear a thing!
Well done Barry from Wigan.

PS. Only hope it works now!

Hi all, I am sorry for the late reply but to be honest with you i forgot. The towing cover went on all-wright, it was a little stiff but you can expect that with a new cover. So a happy chapie here. Thanks for your help. 1942.uniblue
