after being quoted 200 labour only to fit a new roof light i decided to do it my self very easy simple job just make shure its all clean and dry before applying the sealer so far no leeks and its been out in a few good heavy rain showers now total cost roof light 94 quid sealer 13 and 1.5 hrs to do it lol and for the record i have cleaned the whole roof now lmao

Not difficult is it? I did both of nine last year. I did mine from inside using the steps under the rooflight, and I used sealant tape round the edges of the roof light, rather than sealer from a gun.

very easy repair the price of caravan repairs i find unbelievably expensive given most jobs are very easy and caravan construction is very basic in engineering terms 2 hrs labour in our Range Rover dealer is cheaper lol

Yes that's right. A few DIY skills and some basic tools is all you need, as there's nothing complex about most caravans, particularly the older ones which are very simple construction. Not too sure about the newest ones that use more modern construction methods, but then these don't seem exactly problem-free either! I've seen all sorts of posts on here about serious leakage problems with new and nearly new caravans. Made me glad I had an old one.
