I have a Compass Omega 550 (2009) with a BPW chassis. I would like to fit a jacking kit to the chassis but can only find AlKo or Alko compatible kits.
I have a scissor jack but it is not too safe (in my opinion) for changing wheels etc, hence wanting something that has a locating bracket bolted to the chassis.
Can anyone recommend a suitable jack kit and if available where to purchase it?
Hi, I too take a trolley jack put it in car boot. Only had call to use it couple of times, once to change wheel on car (so much quicker than the daft car jack). Once used it to level caravan on a pitch to put blocks under the wheel. At home I use to fit the winter wheels so I can keep the tyres in the garage for winter. So it's a trolley jack for me obtainable for under £30, at Halfords, Screwfix, Toolstation, machine mart, even Lidl and Aldi at times
It's best to hitch the van to the car when jacking. It stops it rolling. One problem is that the van brakes don't work straight away in reverse. So if the van starts to run back the van handbrake will not stop it.
