Hi new on here , I am trying to help a friend she has a stirling eccles caravan around 2011 model the battery fell out of the caravan while she was towing there should be a plate with a bolt holding the battery, cannot get one from the van shops, have made a plate but
but dont know the bolt size think it is around 6mm metric does not seem to fit is it witworth ? would be grateful for any advice on this

Perhaps consider putting a strap round the battery. you may have to fit holders and drill through the battery box - if you do I'd reinforce the drill area with some ply to spread the pressure. You can find straps and holders on auction sites.

It is definitely a metric thread. I cannot check the size on ours but it will be 6mm or 8mm.

B&Q have a range of 6mm and 8mm zinc plated screws. My van is in storage so I cant check for you right now. The plate system works fine and is far better than straps. One shown here:
