Hi , I have water come in at the front end of my Bailey Pageant series 7 , quite a lot , I believe it to be getting through the window hinge rail ? , but will double check with a hose when I get home, however >> if it is the hinge rail , is it an easy job ? and > do you use the mastic tape on a role to seal it ? I phoned a caravan repair shop and they said no , we dont use that , we use the silicon out of a tube , and wanted to chage me £145 + vat to do the job , I always thought that the mastic sealing tape was used , then screw the rail onto it and squash it , thus making the seal , anyone done one before please ?? Thank you.

Hi , thanks for the info , Im glad im not going doolally lol , I was convinced i had to use Mastic tape , but hey , when you are told these things from a caravan repair place , you tend to believe them and doubt yourself , but going by your replies , I will attempt the job myself using mastic tape , again thank you ,

Thanks all for the info and advice , I took the bull by the horns and did the job this morning , it took about 1 1/2 hours , well worth the effort , at least I know now its been done to a good standard , ive done the hose pipe test and no water ingress , we will wait for the rain to see if the water is coming in from a different place , but upto now , its looking good , , Thanks again all ,
