Hi,my caravan has mptl of 1650 and I am trying to find out which brake size I need.I have the alko catalogue and for chassis that have a single axle with a max load of 160kg the size required seems to be 2361 on a 5 stud hub, however should I go of the mass running order of 1290 which shows the brake size of 051 which is a quite common spec.I know I could remove the hub and measure the inside diameter etc but I would then have to replace the one shot nut which by the way can also tell me what I need to know by measuring the distance accross the flats,on a 2361 brake it would be 32mm and the 051 would be 36mm but then I would have to replace the one shot nut again when I get the right shoes, has anyone got a van with my weight spec who can tell me the brake sizes I require, the van is a Vanmaster 2005 480 Ovation, regards Keith.
Hi Rob yes but it means removing the wheel and dust cover,I may need a special tool for that, which is OK but I am asking this advice in case someone has a van with the same weights and they may have already replaced the brakes and will know what I need, keith.
Has anyone got info on wheel bolts on pre 2010 Alko chassis,I have heard that earlier vans with alloys need a second set of wheel bolts in order to fit the steel spare, regards Keith.
