Hi. I’m away in my caravan and the run pump is flashing on and off and the water keeps making a sucking noise from the water barrell any ideas what to do please.
Have you got a fully charged leisure battery connected up?
If the battery voltage is low it will cause the pump to run continuously and eventually drain the battery dead.
Does it have the submersible pump? If so make sure the aquaroll has enough water in, disconnect the pump then lower it into the roll then plug it in firmly. This primes the pump.
There should be a sticker on the inside of the water inlet telling you this, but they fall off!

Tried everything that been recommended. Still no joy. Phoned an expert said It sounds like an air lock. I’m unsure now whether to use it as it’s constant wondering if I will do more damage. Knocked it off now will try again later thank you for your replies
If it is an air lock then that suggests that the pump isn't powerful enough to deliver the water into the system which could be the result of a low voltage battery as suggested. Firstly you need to eliminate the battery as being the suspect problem and the only way to do that is to obtain a voltmeter and check the battery voltage. If it's above 12.7 volts then you can rule out a defective battery and check the 'O' ring at the pump inlet to see if it sealing because if the seal isn't doing what it should then the system won't pressurise.
We have the same issue. tried everything as above!
I wonder if it is the diaphragm or return valve on the inlet fitting on the side of the caravan, so i have ordered a service kit for less than a tenner to switch these out.
Had the same issue, noticed when I put the pump into the aqua roll it was floating to the top where I couldn’t immediately see it so it was sucking in air, I zip tied a dessert spoon to it, cured👍
Did you manage to rectify the problem with sucking noise and if so what was the underlying cause?
Providing answers helps other members who may encounter an identical issue in the future.
in case anyone comes across the same problem....I managed to get away in the van in the week and solved our water issue...i.e. even though no taps were in use, every minute or so it re-pressurised the system.
I had already ruled-out a floating pump, voltage issues and any leaks, and had already been messing with the pressure adjustment so believed it was a problem with a return valve or something!
So I ordered a Whale Watermaster Service Kit - AK8834 for £8
it took 10 minutes to replace the seals and the non-return valve and white diaphragm. (The old ones looked pretty worn)
And then I just had to mess again with the pressure adjuster and its been fine ever since!
So it could be any of the above. which are worth ruling out, but the kit came with 2 diaphragms and valves, so worth having in the spares box.
Now that's a result, and not a lot of cash too lay out.
