Hi. I have just purchased the Compass kingston 2000 4 berth caravan. Just trying to get the heater working. At the moment i only have access to 12v. So no 240v or gas atm as im on the storage site. I am sure on the carver heater i should be able to get the fan working at least on 12v. Sadly it doesnt do anything. The plug on the wall that says heater 240v does not light up. I guess this is for when i get it plugged into the electric...anyway i tried putting the switch on the heater to fan only. I do not get any lights on or fan movement. I can confirm i get 11.74 volts to the heater on the green and white cable. This plugs into the back of the heater. The cable that goes from the back of the heater into the switch i do not know how to test or even if 12v should go through this cable. Although the socket that cable goes into on the switch seems very loose. Do i need a new switch? can i test the 5 cable wire thay goes into the switch to see if its the wire? Im guess the kettle plug that people have mention on this site is irrelivant for the 12v test. Thank u to everyone who has commented on these heaters in the past inc Gary. With thay information i have managed to provide the details thus far. Happy to send photos if needed.
I confirm the cable going into the switch connects good however it is the socket that seems loose and come away from the motherboard, not off, but just away. I dont know if this is correct
If you only have 11.74 volts your battery has only got 25% of charge/power.
All electric motors tend to need a good charge voltage to run.
This is the reason 12 volt fanned heaters flatten a battery quite quickly.
Suggest you take the battery home and give it a good overnight charge .
It needs to read at least 12.8 volts
If a battery is allowed to stay flat for too long the internal plates sulffate.
Anything under 11.5 you will need a new battery.
If it was me, I wouldn't do anything until the caravan is hooked up to the mains.
At 11 volts your battery is as good as flat. You may get a little light from the 12volt lights but you would be very lucky to get any movement from a motor.
Fully charged, your battery should be just over 13 volts

Can now confirm 12v is reaching the fanmaster. 13.5v in fact! This is measure from the cable going into the back of the carver fanmaster. I have ordered a new board for the slider switch, 26 quid from ebay. It should be arriving today. Will update you this weekend.
John can you fill in your outfit and location details in your profile please.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Just to confirm purchasing the board did the trick. Although i do have a connecting issue because the bits that secure the board in place have broken off. Also the fan starts up with only 11v in the battery if this is useful for anyone in future when they are testing the switch
