Looks like swift have a recall for front end separating from gas locker, well documented. I have checked mine before they arrive although they haven’t confirmed visit yet you will see from the pictures I think it looks ok what do you think.? If you look on the net search you will find a picture of somebodies that isn’t. Feedback would be appreciated. Why swift doesn’t send out flyer showing what’s bad and good would put some people’s mind at rest. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0MmZCqIAfm3Yc4qyDvH81SVnw#Kirby_Muxloe https://share.icloud.com/photos/0-8FK2cEP0-0qHnM6Pylz6h0A#Kirby_Muxloe
Our caravan has just been with the dealer for service and when we picked it up on Friday we asked about the recall. Our dealer informed us it was just 2017 models which I hope is correct as we have a 2018! I hope yours is not one of the affected vans!
Now the 30th, Still haven't heard from Swifts despite replying to their email in regard to booking an engineer's inspections.I rang them and was told to be patient by the customer services. They would not let me speak to the recall team.I now have a 2 and a half years old caravan I am unable to use. They won't talk on the phone if you email them you get a generic reply "We will reply to your email within 10 working days". Which they are not doing. Buy Swft group for Customer services at their worst.
The recall was instigated because the front Bulkhead was coming apart. This is the area where people keep their gas bottles awning ect. Remove everything from this area. Then using a torch look inside you will see metal strips with screws fitted these metal bars can be found at each side. The reason the Bulkhead is coming away. It seems that someone in the factory fitted Bulkhead with screws that were to small.
