I personally think,regriting might be the best option as the mover is 12 yrs old.

This company supply them, there is also instructions that you can have a read of.

There is also a video that shows brake rollers(MOT) being re gritted which probably would be of some help.

Find someone with a lathe who can knurl them instead?

Knurling is that pattern you get on round items, it can be straight lines or a diamond/criss cross pattern similar to the handles on some hand tools

I did the rollers on my old Enduro mover as the aluminium rollers had straight ribs which were not grippy enough when the tyres were wet/muddy.
