Hi all,my caravan is in storage so have been unable to get access to turn the tyres since march, will they be a danger to use, they were brand new a year ago ? Thanks for any replies,
Trouter
I have a classic car in my garage I got it out a couple of weeks ago the first time in probably 3 years tyres are still good as new. I keep the caravan in storage and it only gets light use due to work never had a tyre problem with that either
------------- its our imperfections that makes us perfect
Same here classic Tractor in garage, admitted bit of a bigger tyre on the rear, same as land rover on front, but not moved since November last year and all still good.
Ifor trailer is sat on road planing's, / grass since last Dec, and Tyre's are still solid and ok, checked them today.
Two commercial caravan tyres on a single axle carry more weight plus are constructed differently to car tyres so are more likely to affected by flat spots to that on a vehicle with four (one at each corner). Car tyres are radial ply with flexible walls than which commercial tyres have a firmer tyre wall so more likely to crack especially if there is insufficient pressure in them. However, it may longer than you think for the pressure decrease as I went and checked my caravan tyres last week which they had only lost 2 psi. in just over 6 months.
