When I attach the +ive clamp onto the 12volt battery, there is a spark on the clamp which indicates (I think) that the battery is being drained. The master switch is OFF, fridge and lights are OFF, and there is no vehicle connected so (I think) there is a fault.
Please can anyone offer advice on this the problem, and please has anyone got a wiring diagram?

Doubt there is anything to worry about. Are you connecting the battery cables in the right sequence e.g positive first then the negative?

The connections are correct, I regularly disconnect only one of the clamps when I am not using the caravan for a while. I've often done this before without seeing a spark

So the positive is sparking even though the negative isn’t connected??

no, the negative clamp is always connected and the spark occurs as soon as the +ive clamp touches the battery terminal.

I have a 2016 Pursuit.
Mine has the solar panel so that could spark.
Fridge must be off with the control not just power off etc.
Radio front panel must be removed.
TV amplifier must be off.
Mains must be disconnected or battery charger may work.
I don't have an alarm but that could if you have one.

Is it just a very small spark.

If the negative is always connected, its not unusual to get a spark when the positive is connected. As sevenexile says, you should connect positive first if you have both disconnected.

We leave our battery connected so the solar panel can top it up. Battery master and radio etc off.

Thank you Navver, - yes it is a small, but noticeable spark. I checked that the fridge control is selected to OFF, and I complied with your other advice also.
Do you know where the relays are?, I tried removing the front cover of the Mains box but failed to do so as a shelf has to be removed first. and the shelf is "jammed" tight between the sides of the front beds.

What do you mean by 'relays'?
Is yours the 2 berth 400/2, ours is. Everything is very tight. Near side has battery box, consumer unit/electrics and spare wheel.
Offside has heater unit and table. Sleeping bags have to go in wardrobe.

All the electrics are in the front near side seat box in with thee consumer unit.
Aerial amplifier is in high level cupboard under the aerial. Aerial adjuster is in one cupboard, amplifier in next one.
Solar control in high level cupboard by door.

It seems the problem is caused by the electronics of the motor mover which is causing the battery to drain.
Thank you so much for your advice, it has been very helpful for me.

You should have a key switch for the motor mover, normally by the battery box or in the battery box. Motor movers aren’t normally wired or have anything to do with the consumer unit. A positive feed is taken from the battery to the key switch then from there to the mover control board, the negative feed will go straight from the battery to the motor mover control board. If the negative is NOT connected to the battery.
Can’t quite see how you are getting a spark from the positive if the negative isn’t connected.

There is no keyswitch, the battery is connected directly to the mover. The positive is always connected, the spark occured on the -ive

After our "adventure" last June I accidentally left the keyswitch in the "on" position (it was raining heavily). When I took the'van for service in August, six weeks later, the battery voltage was down to 6 volts. I woud recommend that a switch is fitted.

It's usually a red isolator with a removable handle. Its normally fitted below the mains input plug such that the mains can only be plugged in when teh isolator handle is removed, and the handle can only be removed when the isolator is switched off.
