Domotic fridge and thetford water heater lit. Something then causes them both to go off ( fridge ignition flashing and red light on water so reol)
After lots of fuse checking and Messi g about I have noticed the following problems
Water heater will only light and stay lit if fridge is switched off.
Fridge no ticking sound and ignition light on front panel very very dim.
When fridge switche on (not ignited) led strip light switch off and back on when fridge turned off.
Measure voltage on gas pipe to water hwTee Nd this is reading About 6v
Are you referring to these appliances being operated by gas and not 240 volt mains electric?
If so which I assume it is the case regarding the ignition ticking I can't understand what you mean about measuring the voltage on gas pipe to water heater.
Hi, I am on 12v and gas. No hook up. Before I worked our that the truma ultrStore water heater would only light when fridge was off, I rang a local caravan servicers who told me to get a multi meter and check if there was any voltage on the gas pipe. Not sure why this was but they did mention pcb board. Gas pipe had 6.3 v when I did this.
Since then after realising my water heater is fine when fridge off I have ruled out the water heater pcb.
Voltage on the gas pipe--sounds like the tin of elbow grease joke to me!
Seriously though I think your battery is absolutely flat.
If you do have a volt meter then check the voltage at the battery terminals.

You need a fully charged leisure battery for the source of ignition to light the fridge and all air needs to be expelled from the gas pipe as well for it to light so as DaveS1 (above post) has stated, your battery is flat and most probably right. Regarding checking voltage on a gas pipe is incorrect because an electrical spark to gas will obviously cause an explosion so where you obtained 6.3 volts from is beyond me. You need to be checking the voltage at the battery so I think you are getting confused somewhere along the way by what the caravan service engineer tried to explain.
It’s quite common for gas pipe to have a earth bond on it but that’s for the 240v system, as has been stated above start with looking at the battery. Fault finding can often be the simple things but take ages to find as they get over looked
