I have a Bailey ranger series 6 champagne caravan and I can not get a decent shine on the paint work after cleaning. At best I get a very patchy shine withe most of the remaining paint work staying matt in colour. I have tried Bobby dazzler and Autoglym but to no avail. Did Bailey make caravans with a matt finish? Any help greatly appreciated

The reason why I asked is because I used to know a woman who cleaned their caravan with CIF surface cleaner which is very abrasive so obviously will remove the protected shiny surface. Her husband was a keen golfer which she did the job whilst he was away for a few hours but I kindly explained to her one day what the consequences would be not using the proper caravan cleaner. Her reply was that she had always cleaned their caravans this way as it removes the nasty black streaks plus it's cheap. Basically some people don't have much common sense but I said to my wife that I feel sorry for the next owners who are obviously going to end up with a constant dull finish so maybe the same has happened in your case which could be the reason you are struggling to obtain a glossy finish.
As with all types of traffic film removers (TFRs) always wash from bottom up, this stops streaks, mix according to instructions and don't dwell washing off or the paint will go dull.
There's a firm called Tourershine that will get it back to good again but don't know costs.
