Mine is not a pressurised system, it is one controlled by microswitches in the taps, but I have fitted an inline non-return valve to mine without any problems. I had issues with water running back when a tap was turned off, resulting in a long wait when a tap was next turned on. Cured my problem without any ill effects. I can't see why it would hurt a pressurised system. I had a similar pressurised system on my boat, and that had an inline non-return valve.

A 2007 model van will most likely have a Truma hot water tank installed which is a low round tank usually grey in colour which in I'm not that familiar with unfortunately. If it had been the older Carver tank then I have experience with repairs of the non return valve that's why I asked what year the van was. Hope you get sorted anyway.

As Pickled Onion posted it is most likely to do with the pump and inbuilt features so I have ordered a head replacement for pump. It will be a week or so I guess before I try and get it sorted but I will update on the progress.

Hi Rich, I had a similar problem on my S7 Bailey Pageant, every now and then the pump would kick in, most noticeably at night of course. I have a sneaking suspicion it's your onboard pump head that is defective, as mine was. Both the pressure switch and the non-return valves are built into it. A bit of an expensive pig, but buying the head only is a lot cheaper than the whole thing. Whale recon they need changing every 5 years on average.
