Hello everyone,we recently purchased a new to us caravan.Earlier today,I received a phone call from where our caravan is stored to let me know that the alarm was going off.I went to the storage yard approximately a half hour journey and it was still going off.The system is a CEC Plug-in-systems IDM3,I disconnected all the wiring to the sounder box, took it out of it's hiding place (when I found it) and undid the cover. It was going off constantly.I found the battery but did not want to damage the box,or circuit board.
We have never set the alarm,or tried to re-set any codes that may have been already programmed in until we have had a chance to read the hand book.As far as we know the alarm was not set as it did not go off when we towed the van from the dealers to the storage yard.Could it be an issue with the battery?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Pa Clampett.

I have contacted Plug in systems, but am waiting for a reply.I have also managed to remove the battery from the the sounder box,it is held in place with an industrial strength, what appears to be Blu tack or double sided tape.I managed to remove it with a very sharp thin bladed kitchen knife.

Hi there
We have the same problem. Did you find out the cause? We have just found out this evening that our caravan alarm has been going off all day (down in Cornwall and we are not there). We have never set the alarm. We wonder if it is that the battery has gone flat.
We would be really grateful if you could reply asap.
Thanks
M Smith
