Hi all, ive leaped into another project on the caravan and im hoping i can some experienced advise. What started off to be a simple paint and reseal of the bathroom has turned into a large project to the point of ripping everything out apart from the toilet and shower tray. Mainly because the sealant goes behind the sink unit and in order to get a decent seal i wanted it out. So anyway i was planning on painting the internal walls white with a proper bathroom paint before resealing.
Now ive noticed internal caravan walls are plywood with a lets say vinyl sheeting stuck to it, to make the plywood water tight and for decorational purposes. Now my van is 20years old so that self adhesive film lets say has lost its stickiness on the edges and in some places wrinkled. As ive cut the silicone away this has lifted. So ive cut the loose bits away revealing the bare plywood (i will attach some images below) which I've trimmed square.
This is the point where in stuck... do i
A. Carry on painting over the walls and plywood and just do the reseal as planned? Will paint alone be ok to protect the plywood?
B. Do i recover it with something? I was thinking of getting some cladding sheeting but will it effect the weight of the caravan drastically?
C. Recover it with self adhesive vinyl like i did in my kitchen area, trouble is that sticky tile ellffect stuff was mega expensive

Bearing in mind i wont be using the shower in the caravan unless i have to as id be using site facilities, but i still want it right as it has to function as a shower on occasions

Regards
Declan

What are peoples thoughts about this?
Would it stick to the walls where i have bare plywood do you think?
