Hi can anyone advise. We have an Elddis Affinity 2015 fitted with Alde 320 heating system. When the pump is running there is a constant drone, not too noticeable during the day but seems pretty loud at night.
On the aldi panel there is a setting for continuous and therm, all advice seems to be to use the therm setting which I've done. The other setting is for 12v pump or extra 12v pump. When it is on extra 12v pump the noise of pump is apparent, when I switch it to 12v pump only it is silent, but right now on that settingnit doesn't seem to be heating up. Can someone explain or advise what each setting is and when I should use them.
Also, everywhere I have read for advice tells me there is a setting going control 1-5, 2 being the normal setting. I can't find this setting anywhere, we've looked at pump which is under the seat and in wardrobe where the tank is and on setting panel and nowhere can I see a control where I can check which setting is on.
I know this is fairly long winded but I'm really confused.
Thanks in advance

Sorry that I can’t offer any specific help with the problem but I know when we had a different problem a couple of years ago, we contacted Alde directly and they were really helpful. Maybe give them a ring on Monday and see if they can help.

Is your alde pump in the header tank? If so they have only one speed I believe.

Hi, I don't know - how would I tell? I can't see a pump.

You should have something that looks like this in one of the cupboards.

Removing the screws, take the grey cover off, if this is what you see you have the pump in the header tank.

Hi, yes the top photo is exactly what we have. So this means we only have one speed for pump and no dial?

If you can view the top of the header tank (use a mirror to help you if you have space to do so) and check to make sure whether or not you have what is in photo 2.
If the header tank looks like photo 2 then you have pump in header tank if not you have a pump somewhere on the main boiler. Are you sure your boiler is Alde 3020 compact. There should be a sticker on the top of the boiler.
We have Alde 3010 compact but also have the touchscreen panel.
When I checked the pump settings on the touchscreen panel I found a section that talks about pump level and it gave setting from 1 to 5.
Ours was set at 2. I have to figure out what that reference to level is.

Check the glycol level in the header tank. Read that low level can cause noisy pump.

Hi, yes, we have the Alde 320 high efficiency system. And I checked with mirror, the pump is definitely inside the header tank. There is no option on the panel for settings 1-5 and no dial anywhere so I'm assuming there is only the one speed.
The glycol was changed the other week at the dealers and from looking online seems to be at the right level. It does a lot of gurgling when it is on too, one of the reasons I was looking to see if I could change settings.

I changed my glycol a few weeks ago and had a lot of gurgling as the system settled. I had to locate all the bleeders on the system to let out the air. It’s running fine now. Also found that as the air locks cleared I had to top up a little each time. All the advice I read said the level (when cold) should be 1cm above the minimum line level. I marked the 1cm line level with a little insulation tape.
Check on your touchscreen panel, go into spanner icon if you have it. Touch the circulation pump icon with triangle in the centre. Mine shows screen saying pump level and it is set at 2. I made no changes to it but see there are 5 levels. I am wondering if that corresponds to pump settings? Still researching that.

Contacted Alde about the pump level setting I came across on touchscreen panel. I have Alde 3010 compact boiler with circulation pump in header tank.
This was their reply
‘ Thank you for your enquiry, that pump setting is only for the remote 12v inline pump. The pump installed on your system unfortunately isn't speed adjustable as I believe you have the circulation pump that is mounted inside the expansion tank in the wardrobe,
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with’

Thanks, I just received an email from Alde telling me the same thing, how's that for timing lol. They also said the pump can get weak through time.
