Hi all we have just bought a second hand caravan with a power touch freedom manual motor mover. First time user , I've watched some YouTube videos on how to use. I have tried to lever it across to engage the wheel but it won't click into place it just returns back to where it started . Am I doing something wrong.
Are you pushing hard enough on the lever to engage the rollers onto the tyres?
The roller should slide easily onto the tyre tread first then another excessive push to engage the roller into the tread pattern. If that's not happening and just springing back then it probably needs setting up.
As has been said, you just need to give it that extra push for it to engage.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
You may not be allowing the lever to move far enough to engage. It needs to rotate more than 180 degrees so make sure that you insert the shortened lever as near to the ground as possible, only extending it as you begin to rotate. In some circumstances it may be easier to insert the lever on the opposite wheel.
As mentioned above, it requires some force to finally engage.
It does take a lot of force to push the lever far enough. Eventually it goes slack when you have gone far enough. I have an extending wheel brace which came with the mover and it needs the full extension to do it.
I used to start with the lever retracted so it was as short as possible and put the handle close to the ground. As it moved it I pulled out the handle to give more leverage and it always engaged.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
I have a 2ft length of hollow ally tube. It goes from off to on in one movement. Theres no 'nearly there', then into the treads, business. It engages the tyre in one hit. If you are new to them, it would be easy to see how you think its not engaging if you haven't wound it across far enough.
Wonder if dale has had any luck, and were the suggestions of any use.
