In steady rain I discovered a drip under the offside front corner of my ABI Rallyman Jubilee.
I then found a rotten rail beside the floorboards. Searched further and found rotten wood inside the locker in the same front corner and rot in the bases of the frames for the water connection and the Carver water heater.
I have cleaned out the rot and got back to solid wood, and plan to renew the rotted parts with treated marine ply and a good glue.
So with a leak causing this I have gone over the rest of the van carefully. Surprisingly everything inside bar the lower front corner is quite dry.And the widow seals are all perfect.
But the off side rail revealed a likely leak. The aluminium side panel overlaps the front at the join! So the water has an immediate path should the seal deterioate, and mine was badly sealed right there.
My question: Does the central roof join have to be sealed or is it supposed to ventilate? There are several openings in the 97 ABI Rallyman Jubilee along the edge of the jointing strip which runs from the back to the front down the middle of the roof. If anyone has experience of these I will be most grateful.
