Recently changed caravan to a Bailey unicorn barcelona that has a onboard water pump, however it was so noisy, the dealer gave us a new pump, but it has made little difference. Any suggestions to get the noise level down

It should be mounted on some little grey rubber feet to remove vibration through the floor. I have seen then additionally mounted on a foam mat to add to the solution. Any additional sound proofing around it will help but not too much, it needs to remove any heat when running.

Dave.

Hi Jeanette, I have a Bailey with an internal pump. Yes they are reasonably noisy . Just when they’re refilling and emptying of course You say it’s a 2 berth ( not a fixed bed) in which case it’s in your living area , then it is more noticeable.. what do the dealers say ? When you can listen to others it maybe something you have to get used to.
Good luck

Tony

We have an onboard pump in our Swift. After time you just get used to it.

Yes, they tend to be noisier but the better water flow is worth it.
You can reduce the noise a little bit by simply replacing the 4 securing with rubber anti vibration bolts.
As above though, you may find that you get used to it.

I had this on our Swift; as well as the transmitted noise through the mountings, I suspect the board itself was acting as a soundboard. I bought an equipment vibration mat and glued it to the board then remounted the pump. It has reduced the noise to a more acceptable level.
