Just had my caravan, 2003 Swift Accord 390, serviced and have been told that the reason for a leak from the bottom end of the shower hose is that the tap has been changed and is not the correct one for this van. As this was before I bought it, I have no idea what tap was originally fitted. Is there anyone who has this van and could help please? I understand that it should be a push fitting and the one I have is a screw fitting which has been fitted using a jubilee clip!
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, we have tried PTFE tape but it is quite difficult to get at the end of the hose as it is behind the basin waste pipe and the vanity unit is moulded and can't remove the shelf so not sure exactly where the leak is coming from. The basin tap and shower hose are one unit where the shower head and hose pull out to use the shower. We don't use the onboard shower as it isn't a separate cubicle and I prefer to use the site facilities rather than have to dry out the toilet compartment after every shower so may look at replacing it with just a tap to the basin.
