I'm tired all the replacing of the plastic tabs all of the crystal 2 water inlet and the constant dripping, despite new seals. I am going to replace it with the whale water master socket. I realise the cut out for the existing crystal socket is bigger than the one required for the whale. Has anybody done this already and if so does anyone have any tips. My crystal is the one without of the filter
I did something similar in my previous caravan, a 1988 Elddis Tornado XL. What I did was get hold of a piece of cream perspex slightly larger than the hole left by the removal of the old water inlet. I then cut a hole in the centre of that to take the new Whale inlet. Making sure to thoroughly seal the perspex to the caravan wall, and the Whale inlet to the perspex, I installed it and connected up the water and 12 volt supply and the job was done.
If you replace the Carver Crystal water inlet to a Truma Ultraflow, the hole is the same size so it's just a matter of using a different pump connection. You can also use the existing pressure switch whereas the Whale Watermaster I believe has an integral pressure switch incorporated in the housing itself which means some 12 volt electrical work involved to adapt the Whale Watermaster inlet.

There was no integral pressure switch with the one I used. I didn't need one as my system was a mcro-switched one.
