Hi all.
Our fridge keeps beeping.
We think its the door open warning, but the door is closed.
Tried holding the switch in with my finger, goes, light off, starts beeping.
Tried disconnecting electrics to light so it doesn't work, starts beeping.
Please help, it's driving us nuts.
Ps, never faulty when in service.

Ours beeps if the door is not properly closed, or the electrical supply has failed or defrosting issue with the freezer or fridge. However there is a post online that mentions condensation on the light terminals could be the cause. Suggest dry off and test

Sometimes if you have a lot of heavy bottles in the door, it weighs the door down ever so slightly so the fridge thinks the door is not closed properly. Try taking everything out of the door to see if it makes any difference.

Seen this on other forums and has been found to be caused by condensation on control panel circuit board. Cure was to spray the board with electrical circuit board lacquer obtainable on Ebay.

Thanks for the replies, folks.

It's definitely the door open warning, just blooming annoying. I'll look into the lacquer spray thing. I'm guessing the bit you mean, Birdman101, is the door catch. Does it need to be removed from the side wall completely, or sprayed in place?
We are away in a couple of weeks, so we'll try the, nothing in the door idea, Pixie, but we are talking our camping fridge in case it doesn't work.
Thanks for all the help.

Ours was doing exactly the same the other week. Even though the door was fully shut, we found that we also had to press hard near the top corner of the door each time after closing. No beeping as long as we remembered. Might be worth a try. Good luck, it's so irritating when it does suddenly start beeping.

This has happened to us a few times and has been due to condensation in the door lock inside the fridge. We take the plastic cover off and dry it carefully with a warm hairdryer. My sister's had exactly the same issue. Identified causes have been - very cold wet windy weather or putting ice packs or frozen food in the fridge while travelling. I have read that the doors are prone to dropping too.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

The circuit board referred to is the main fridge control panel. Board at the back of it.
