I decide to remove the Alko spare wheel holder completely. The wheel is bagged and in the caravan for travelling, and in the car when the caravan is sited. Bit of a faff, but better than trying to remove from underneath after a puncture. T shirt job.
Or you could place it under your caravan when on site. It also saves you from crawling about in the wet if you are unlucky enough to get a puncture on a rainy day.
