Who has changed their hitch damper ?

Did mine yesterday. No issues and straight forward enough. All new bolts etc. The thing I am concerned about though is that on the original damper at the hitch end the steel tube through the bush is beveled at the ends so it fits the curvature of the inside of the draw tube the same as the spacer does for inside of the tube for the front bolt. On the new damper which is a Stabilus/maypole equivalent the tube is shorter and not shaped at the ends so it snuggly fits to the inner sides of the tube. All of the bolts torqued up correctly and the draw tube is thick stuff so I don't think it's a problem of the tube crushing when the bolts are torqued.
I'm just a bit nervous about it
