Hi all. I've just bought a second hand 2006 Swift Conqueror 645 Lux private sale. I knew it had a few problems and have been working through them. Replaced a faulty battery (12v now good). Replaced the gas ignition box in the Truma fire (gas fire now works). Purchased the cassette toilet fresh up kit (all good). But the problem I have now is the truma heater. The fan doesn't operate at all. And the electric heater doesn't work at all. With the light on the controller not on. Fuses are good. Before I take the fire apart has anyone any ideas what my problem could be? I'm thinking I have two separate faults. The fan runs off the 12v which I know is now good. The electric part off 240v from the distribution panel. All other electrics and sockets are good. I have bought a new seal for the gas vent and just in case the temp control and limiter from apuljack eng. Any help/advice would be much appreciated before I embark on removal. Thanks in advance.

Surely the battery should be 12v?

If you have no LED lit on the controller, it means that the electrical control voltage is missing, that's what activates the three power relays to activate the heating elements. It could be no supply to the PCB at the rear of the fire but it was a pretty common failure in earlier models as the transformer was underrated and overheated. If this is the case, the normally flat top will bulge outwards and is duff. New PCBs are readily available but pricey. However, with a bit of searching, items that normally fail, (transformer & relays) are available to buy on line, if competent to do the soldering job oneself.

Dave.

Thanks Dave.
I’ll find out this weekend when I open the heater up.

Thanks mate. Was the transformer. Exactly as you said. Top bulging out. I’ll try find the components to swap out. The 12v fan has a faulty motor too. Put the 12v across it and nothing. So need a new 12v motor. But good to get it all apart and checked out. Thanks for taking the time to give me advice.
