When I first got my van, someone advised 'get a spare pump' 'cos it's a pain if it fails and you have no running water! So I did start looking, fortuitously at the time someone else recommended getting the Whale pump in preference to another Truma pump which I already had for the Truma Ultraflow inlet coupling, as it had better water flow (higher gph figure) and was considered more reliable. So the Whale pump it was, and still in use nearly 4 years on as my regular pump, with the Truma one relegated to 'spare' status, it does work hard and is well used as I use the on board shower in preference to site facilities. IIRC, the Whale pump was also a little cheaper than the Truma one as well at the time, so a winner all round.
I can't check which model it is, as miles away in the van in storage yard, but it certainly resembles the GP1652 and was rated as a high flow pump. Wouldn't hesitate in buying another one should I need to.
Reasonably sure this is the pump I've got: https://bigwhitebox.co.uk/product/whale-water-pump-truma-ultraflow-ep1642/
My system is a pressure switch type, but can see no reason why a microswitch system should be any problem, and Whale advise suitable for both: https://www.whalepumps.com/rv/product.aspx?Category_ID=10006&Product_ID=7&Friendly........
