Sorry for length of post but here goes.
That old chestnut is now bugging me. Last year I noticed for the first time in 8 years of owning this 'van, misting in the front centre window which would appear when the sun came out but go away in the usual manner with these scenarios. This year it was taking too long to go away, and there was also water drops running down the window inside the skins. Upon examining the edges I found to my horror about a three inch length of delamination at the top left hand corner. So armed with a fresh tube of Stixall (which sorted a bad case of delamination of the left front side window last year, all three edges had failed), I started to check, and as I nudged the gap with a screwdriver so as to introduce the adhesive, lo and behold the whole of the side sprung apart with a rasping sound. The lower seam is solid with no problems. So with my trusty supply of Hobbycraft Bulldog clips I set to and re-bonded the side. That was a few days ago, and the joint is now fine and the clips removed. However, I cannot get rid of the misting. I am assuming that the existence of so much cold/damp air which must have accumulated in there over the months is well-established. I have tried the trick of playing a hair drier over the outside surface (bungs removed); in a few hours this cleared the front skin but the inside pane was still misty. So today I have removed the window and it is stood against a chair in the garden in bright sunlight. The front skin cleared eventually, so I turned the window round the concentrate on the inner pane which is VERY slowly clearing but at the present rate I doubt if it will clear before the sun goes down this evening.
There is a new window of the correct type and tint/border colour available on line and I am now considering purchasing it as I don't think this window will ever clear to the state which is acceptable. What doesn't help me is that I am in the process of preparing the 'van for sale - this situation has somewhat scuppered my plans.
Any ideas anyone? Later today I am going to try one last idea, that is to make up a piece of thin tubing and funnel arrangement into one of the bung holes to try to clear the air in the window with a hair drier, the idea being to chase the damp air out of the other bung hole.
Wish me luck lol.
