My caravan is fitted with e-go motor movers and the handset has stopped working. I have tried replacing the batteries and have thoroughly cleaned the battery contacts, but it still doesn't work. The LED in the handset doesn't even light up. The handset also is only held together at the top with sticky tape and there is one screw holding the bottom end.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement or this one repaired? It was working fine earlier in the year, but when we came to leave at the beginning of this month it wouldn't work.

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Beware the problem may be at the mm end Colin. I had the same earlier in the year, and wasted £60 on a new remote, to no avail.
Had a new mm fitted for 600 inc vat; happy days.
Try inserting some new different batteries first as it has been known for brand new batteries to be defective. It doesn't happen very frequently but worth a try first so can be ruled out of being the possible cause.
Thanks all for your help. Think I may well go with RemoteFixer.
I have tried 4 different sets of new batteries, as I buy them in bulk.
I am reasonably certain it is the remote that is the problem, as the LED indicator should light up even if the mover itself isn't switched on, and it doesn't. It always did before. I know that because I put new batteries in it in the house earlier in the year before we took the caravan to a C&CC DA meet. At the time the leisure battery wasn't even on the caravan. The LED lit up then when I tested it after putting the batteries in.
Must admit I haven't tried peeling back the plastic membrane. It could be the "on" button contacts that are at fault. I'll give that a go before I send it off to RemoteFixer. It may well do the trick as I'm sure it is probably only something simple. It worked perfectly in April, and I've never had the slightest problem with it in the last 4 years that I have owned the caravan.
I agree with other comments on here. The RemoteFixer is very good and I also used the service. He did manage to improve my handset for a short time. However in a few months it completely gave up.
The AWS mobile engineer I use to service my van suggested A & R Electronics. So I contacted them. I was told to either send or take my mover control unit to him with the handset to them. The place is close to where I work so one lunchtime I took it to his unit/factory. Richard took my mover off me and with 2 mins came back and said the remote was no good. He supplied me with a replacement (he even paired it to my control unit).
I think the replacement was about £75. Worked fine since (fingers crossed). They might be worth a phone call or send an email.

Hi Colin
Not sure if you sorted the mover handset or not.

Thanks for that, my remote is currently with RemoteFixer and I am hoping to have it back soon. I don't know yet whether he will be able to sort it. If he doesn't, maybe I'll try A R electronics.

Hi, I have mine back now and it appears to be fine. Well at least it turns on, which it didn't before. I'll give it a test tomorrow though as I will be moving the caravan then.
